Our Team of Builders
I run a small, close team so that I can be properly involved in all of the jobs I take on. I have an awesome team and we work well together to deliver the best possible result.
I have the drive to keep a job flowing and work hard to be cost effective and efficient but don’t take short cuts. I like to make sure that I am personally happy with every step in the construction process. Being local, I have great working and personal relationships with the skilled specialists that I call on for my projects.

Since starting Jay Cowley Builder, it has been a very busy few years both at work and at home.
I have a young family so when I have spare time I spend it with them, encouraging them in sports, as well as participating in many sports or increasingly, as I get older and more fragile, spectating. |

Hi I’m Lloyd
I joined Jay's team as recently as February 2015 however have been in the construction industry since leaving school in 1991.
I am trade qualified in cabinet making and joinery and also have spent several years in the kitchen design field. I completed my building trade in Whangarei where I worked with local builders before I ventured out on my own and ran my own business.
I have recently returned from Australia, where I worked again in the construction industry but within the mining sector. I have settled in Cambridge which I am thoroughly enjoying. Outside of work, I have three young boys who keep me busy and I enjoy the family time with them as well as involvement with supporting their sporting activities. I also enjoy fishing, diving, boating, family and friends, socialising and of course I love my rugby |

Hi I’m Colin!
I have been working for Jay since June 2014, signing on as an Apprentice in July 2014.
Jay has a very skilled team, which has made it easy for me to learn ways to complete all aspects of building to a high standard.
Outside of work I enjoy mountain biking, surfing and spending time with my family. |

Hi I’m Chris!
I am a trade qualified Registered Building Practitioner and also trade qualified Toolmaker. I started working with Jay in April 2014 after being given the opportunity to get back into top quality residential homes.
I enjoy building with Jay because he strives for perfection with fits in with my belief of "Do it right first time"
In my spare time I like to spend time with my Wife and three children and enjoy a range of outdoor activities. |

Hi I’m Vaughan!
I've been working with Jay Cowley since May 2012.
I was lucky to start my apprenticeship with Jay. Its been constantly busy during my time and I've learnt a lot while working with him.
Jay has taught me to work to a high standard and to take pride in my work. I always look forward to the finished result. The area I enjoy most about building is installing interior joinery although I enjoy the variety the building trade has to offer
In my spare time I enjoy playing rugby and getting out with friends. |
